DP-cPCI-5121R is a Rear I/O Transition module which allows hot swap replacement of the front I/O modules very conveniently without having to disconnect the field I/O cables.
The chassis should provide mechanical support to hold the rear transition modules and the backplane should have P3, P4, P5 connectors populated.
Customized rear transition modules in conjunction with standard cPCI modules supporting rear I/O simplifies the system engineering and lowers the cost of ownership.
