The DP-cPCI-4296 is a cPCI based hot swappable 8 Channel ARINC 429 module. It is widely used in automatic test equipments, avionics communication and rugged military systems. It features 8 ARINC 429 transmitters and 8 ARINC 429 receivers on a single 3U form factor cPCI module.
The ARINC 429 data input is given to the line receiver section which acts as level translator to convert ARINC 429 signal level into internal logic level. The line receiver withstands ARINC 429 Digital Information Transfer Standard and is lightning protected.
In the transmitting mode the word is registered into the transmitter FIFO. The ARINC 429 protocol transmitter data word format is done in the FPGA and transmitted serially to ARINC 429 transmitter. The ARINC 429 standard signals are converted to Differential TTL/CMOS levels by two quad line receivers.
Each transmitter is enabled or disabled using independent relays. All transmitters are disabled and receivers are enabled at power ON stage. DP-cPCI-4296 supports eight receivers and transmitters with a bit rate either 12.5 Kbps or 100 Kbps.
The module is supplied with device drivers in Windows 2000 and RT Linux. Optionally, software drivers are available on operating systems such as VxWorks, QNX, and Lynx.
